Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.
3 John 1:2

Men go abroad to wonder at the heights of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motions of the stars, and they pass by themselves without wondering.

Confessions, St. Augustine

ABOUT SOUL CARE MINISTRY

The Mission of Soul Care is to minister to wounded and broken believers to help them embrace the healing, wholeness, and freedom that Jesus gives us. We provide a Christ-centered, life-changing, Bible-based curriculum that was developed to facilitate learning, healing, and growth. Delivered in small group settings, in 12 weekly sessions, the program is backed up by over twenty years of biblical studies and ten years of Christian counselling experience.

Soul Care is based on the premise that God created human beings as body, soul and spirit and all three parts were affected by sin. When we are saved, God’s immediate work of justification recreates believers’ spirits, fills us with the Holy Spirit, and positions us “in Christ”. However, the effects of sin in our souls and bodies may still be influential in our lives. God’s plan is for us to be transformed by renewing of our minds in order to be conformed to the character of Christ.

The Message of Soul Care is that believers need to intentionally renew our minds with Scriptural truths and partner with the Holy Spirit as he does the supernatural work of transformation in our souls. Unfortunately, many believers do not know this. As a result they are living with inner wounds from the past, struggling with ungodly habits, driven by negative emotions, and ignorant of the power available to them to effect change.

Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. 3 John 1:2

THE VISION OF SOUL CARE

John's prayer summarizes our vision for every believer: that we may enjoy healthy minds, emotions and choices, which will then influence all other areas of our lives. That is why we invite you on this journey to:

• Ground yourself in your identity “in Christ”

• Renew your mind with Scriptural truth.

• Identify your soul wounds and allow them to heal.

• Embrace your freedom, power and authority “in Christ”

• Learn to make godly choices.

• Yield to the leadership of the Holy Spirit

It is God who restores our souls (Psalm 23:3). As we intentionally let the Scriptures reshape our thoughts and yield to the work of the Holy Spirit,
he can effect deep character change in us.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12:2

BENEFITS OF SOUL CARE

Soul wounds can limit your effectiveness in many areas of life. Learning to care for your soul will help you to be more fully engaged in life, relationships and ministry.

Men and women who completed the Soul Care program said:

• “Understanding the difference between the spirit and soul was life-changing!”

• “The thing that impacted me the most was learning how to renew my mind!”

• “This program opened our eyes to the importance of forgiving others to free myself!”

• “I finally learned what to do with the negative emotions that have been stored inside me since I was a child!”

• “The confidentiality and supportive group atmosphere made me feel safe to share and heal!”

“He makes me to like down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.
Psalm 23:2
